KETTLE PRODUCE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING EVENT

During the summer, from the 12th to the 19th of August, Kettle Produce held its annual health and well-being event for staff across both Orkie and Balmalcolm sites.

Running for its fifth year, the events are a fun way of raising awareness about employee wellbeing and the available wellness related support which Kettle Produce offers to its staff.

Across the two weeks, 500 employees took part in traditional school sports day challenges and activities, including the egg and spoon race, 3-legged race, rounders, tug of war and wellie throwing.

Local ice-hockey team, Fife Flyers were also on hand to help with the games throughout the day, as well as assisting staff to improve on their ice-hockey shooting techniques.

John McGregor Head of Human Resources at Kettle Produce, said: “It was great to see so many of our staff enjoying the health and well-being events in the summer, which included a variety of outdoor activities.  Promoting health and wellbeing is a key focus of ours as we want to support and encourage our staff in any way that we can. We often run a range of awareness events linked to employee wellbeing, as well as having mental health first aiders and occupational health nurses on site across the business.

“Our health and well-being events were a great success in terms of getting our employees engaged in outdoor activities and fun competitions with each other and helping with team building and letting people from across the business get to know each other. We very much look forward to carrying out more wellness related events and initiatives in the future.”
