Kettle Produce Limited is one of the major suppliers of fresh and pre-packed vegetables in the UK. We are a dynamic and customer focused business and our Production department plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the business.

A Senior HR Advisor will provide expert, professional advice and support to both managers and employees on all aspects of people management. Working closely with and assisting the HR Business Partner in strategy identification and implementation.  Working collaboratively with others to ensure the delivery of business goals and objectives.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities;

  • Line management responsibility for the HR Administrator and HR Officer roles to include coaching, mentoring and personal development and completion of appraisals.
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with managers to support the completion of all performance reviews are completed within requested time scales. Provide sound and solid best practice advice and guidance to managers with regards to any employee performance issues.
  • Assist managers with any disciplinary and grievance issues or appeals. Issuing appropriate letters and taking notes at meetings where appropriate. Carry out mediation sessions as and when required.
  • Continually monitor the external environment and pay particular attention to forthcoming legislation that might influence a change or amend to current KPL policies and guidance.
  • Ensure that the HR Administrators and Officer are carrying out all the requirements and procedures relating to the efficient and consistent management of our short and long-term business absence strategy.
  • Liaise with HR Officer and Occupational Health Nurse with regards to long term sick employees (employees absent for longer than 2 weeks).
  • Carry out long term absence case reviews and capability meetings with relevant manager and OH Nurse, where required.
  • Assist with any salary and hourly paid recruitment as required, including support with interviews and Psychometric testing where appropriate.
  • Liaise with Recruitment Officer, HR Officer and department managers to ensure headcount is maintained within each area in line with confirmed requirements.
  • Assist HR Business Partner to actively support the organisations Learning & Development strategy, including the development and delivery of core skills and compliance training.
  • Ensure that the HR Officer and HR Administrator are given the necessary training and support to be able to fully meet the requirements of their roles.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of site events and social activities to support engagement strategy.
  • Participate in the delivery of business projects such as Talent Management, Employee Engagement and Change action groups.
  • Ensure that accurate data is maintained in all related HR systems such as: Open HR, TMS and that all departmental admin is completed accurately, timely and is legible.
  • Ensure that all Payroll required data is processed in a timely manner and meets our agreed timescales and deadlines.
  • Co-ordinate and lead monthly HR meetings with department managers.  Represent the HR department at daily and weekly cross-department meetings.
  • When required deputise for the HR Operations & Payroll Manager and HR Business Partner and represent the department at any required meetings, customer visits, Trades Union events etc.
