Recruitment Officer

Kettle Produce Limited is one of the major suppliers of fresh and pre-packed vegetables in the UK. We are a dynamic and customer focused business and our Production department plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the business.


We currently have an opportunity for a Recruitment Officer to join the HR team, initially based at our Orkie site, recruiting for both sites.

Working as part of a team, the ideal candidate should be highly motivated with a positive outlook, approachable, a strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels and passionate about detail, fairness and equality.  Previous HR and Recruitment experience is preferred.

As a Recruitment Officer your role will be to attract, identify and shortlist candidates for current and future vacancies.  You will coordinate and support the interview process for candidates, to fulfil the requirements of business needs.  Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Advertising current vacancies internally, on jobsites, social media and other platforms, using local market knowledge to attract candidates.
  • Contacting candidates and conducting initial screening to find out what roles they are interested in, their salary expectations, notice period, the reason for leaving current role etc.
  • Liaising with the hiring manager and HR team to learn the job details, specific qualifications required, and the experience needed (if any) for current vacancies, using this information to source candidates who meet the criteria.
  • Arranging and participating in the interview process.  Providing support in carrying out pre-employment and compliance checks in line with company policy and relevant legislation.
  • Recruitment administrative tasks, such as updating the recruitment log, daily emails, answering enquiries, sending out offers of employment, confirming induction start date and making sure that the candidates and clients always receive a professional and comprehensive recruitment service.
  • Liaising with HR Business Partner and Department Managers to ensure that headcount is maintained within each area where required and production manpower is accurate.
  • Take personal responsibility for being an active team member and lead by example in terms of behaviours and professionalism.
  • Innovative approach towards working with further and higher education establishments with the view to creating a talent pipe line.
  • Keep up to date with changes to legislation and the external environment, and participate in business projects, events and activities to support the engagement strategy.
