Process Engineer Team Leader

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Operational Efficiencies

  • Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement within your work area & liaise with key stakeholders to implement best practice processes and procedures. Develop improvement plans that maximise effectiveness and efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Quality Standards

  • Lead the team to monitor the quality of the product and all packaging used to ensure that the quality of every finished pack or unit meets or exceeds customer specifications.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure that team members are trained and competent in their job role and at all machinery is operated in accordance with our Health and Safety procedures and that due diligence is applied.


  • Lead the team to ensure that the work area complies with company hygiene standards and GMP standards.


  • Ensure that productive, collaborative two-way communication is shared with the Shift Manager, team members and the engineering department.


  • Lead, motivate and develop the team in line with company values and policies to maximise employee engagement and efficiency e.g. Training, Coaching, Performance Management, Absence Management, Performance Appraisal etc.

Essential Previous Qualifications/Training;

  • Health & Safety Training (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent)

Desirable Previous Qualifications/Training;

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Food machinery and technical problem solving experience

Managing Information

  • Ensure that the appropriate electronic and hard copy paperwork is completed accurately, timely and is legible.
