Multi-skilled Engineer

Kettle Produce Limited is one of the main suppliers of fresh and pre-packed vegetables in the country and one of the largest private employers in Fife.  Our two sites, located just a 5-minute drive north of Glenrothes, are looking to add additional Engineers to support our current team.

As an Engineer you will be supporting the efficiency of the production lines by providing both planned and reactive engineering solutions to ensure minimal production down time

You will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern across days and nights.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Reporting to the engineering team leader for a wide variety of reactive and PPM tasks
  • Liaise with production supervisors and managers to support the identification of potential issues
  • Support in investigating means of improving plant productivity
  • Liaise with engineering stores / team leader to ensure sufficient stocks of spare parts are available
  • Adhere to preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules
  • Completing scheduled works required, gaining permission to proceed, permits are in place
  • Assist external contractors with installation works as required
  • Responsible for health and safety of the work environment, ensuring that site safety standards are adhered to at all times, leaving work areas clean, tidy and safe after any works are completed
  • Monitor all machinery and ancillary plant during production.
  • Rectify any defects, following process to a satisfactory conclusion

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in an engineer role in a manufacturing environment
  • Apprentice served engineer with relevant qualifications in mechanical / electrical engineering
  • Experience working with a CMMS
  • Good level of English language; spoken & written
  • Good communication skills
  • Driving licence desirable
  • MHE qualifications and experience desirable

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift / Night shift
