Hygiene Operative (Night Shift)

Our hygiene department plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the business.


We currently have opportunities for Hygiene Controllers to join our Hygiene team at both our Orkie and Balmalcolm sites.

Applications are welcomed from internal candidates who are flexible with their working hours and have a strong interest in maximising the effectiveness of our Hygiene department.  

Main duties will include:

  • Ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures and that the appropriate PPE is worn for the given tasks.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are returned to the allocated area and are kept in a clean hygienic condition.
  • Ensure that the appropriate paperwork is completed accurately, timely and is legible.
  • Ensure that two-way communication is shared with Production Management, Water Treatment Plant Operatives, Engineering and Hygiene team members.
  • Ensure that any nuts, bolts, washers etc. are accounted for and replaced back on machinery in the correct position.
  • Initiate and complete Shire maintenance requests.
  • Ensure that machinery is assembled correctly after machinery strip down in order to ensure that production can start on time without problems.
  • Cleaning and strip down of machinery and any additional jobs required as deemed necessary by the Team Leader.
  • Manage and challenge the use of water during Hygiene activities.
  • Stand in for the Team Leader in their absence.
