HSE Manager

Kettle Produce Limited is one of the main providers of fresh and pre-packed vegetables in the country. We are a dynamic and customer focused business and these are exactly the kind of qualities we look for in all our employees. Our Operations department plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the business.

We currently require an experienced HSE Manager to contribute and drive our continuous improvement culture. These are exciting and challenging times at Kettle Produce and we need people who will make a difference and add value to our already strong and effective team.

These opportunities demand enthusiasm and self-motivation and will also require strong leadership, coaching and influencing skills, as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of the business. These key skills should be supported by experience of people management. Experience in food production manufacturing would be an added advantage, however, for this role all applicants who can demonstrate strong required competencies will be considered.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • An industry recognised qualification such as the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Either hold or be close to obtaining Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH). ...
  • Credible experience in health and safety, including operations experience.
  • A track record of project management


Job Purpose:

To positively challenge, advise, support, coach and mentor all key stakeholders in the business to aspire to Health, Safety and Environmental management excellence.

Key Activities of the Post: -

Provide competent and professional Health, Safety & Environmental management support business wide.

Actively promote Health & Safety best practice providing effective communication at all levels of the business maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality and sensitivity when dealing with information, both verbally and documented, internally as well as externally.

Develop a competent understanding of, and maintain the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, being proactive in the promotion of them throughout the Company.

Carry out any reasonable task requested of you in relation to the core operation of the Company.


Undertake regular safety sampling/auditing inspections as required by Company Policy.

Coordinate the collection of completed departmental safety audits/inspections
Safety Systems

Support the Managing Director and Head of Operations in the application of regulatory requirements and Company Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Ensure risk and other assessments are carried out and acted upon as required by H&S legislation and Company policy and assist in the development of “Safe Systems of Work” and all other relevant procedures.


Manage the coordination of accident/incident and near miss investigations, prompting remedial corrective action, and reporting findings through the Company procedures.

Carry out the timely Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences. RIDDOR

Analyse and report on inspection, audit and accident/near miss data.
