Our Ideal candidate should have:
- Experience of guiding, developing, instructing, and leading a small team
- Distribution/Logistics insight in previous roles - such as loading plans
- Problem solving mindset and ability to think on your feet when challenges arise
- Ability to engage with your team to keep them motivated
- Experience of training, coaching, performance and absence management, appraisals and other meetings /reviews.
- As there may be times when you are on in the Chill supporting your teams, forklift experience is desirable
What the job involves:
- Building a positive working environment
- Be the link between your team and the shift manager
- Carry out risk assessment/safe operating checks, and sign off
- Planning loading schedules
- Maintaining lines of communications with external hauliers
- H&S insight
- Ensuring everyone has the relevant training and PPE for the
- MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment) they are using
- Getting to know your team and learning the skills and strengths
- each team member has
- Staff development, appraisals, other HR meetings and involvement in interviews
- Encouraging and highlighting progression and training opportunities
- Promote a respectful and inclusive environment
- Maintain a check on physical and mental health wellbeing within your team, and manage any issues accordingly
- Maintain effective relationships with other key teams across the business, particularly logistics and production
- Focus equally on Distribution targets and the empowerment of your team
- Supporting your team during busy times with their workload by being more hands on if required
Working hours are 40 hours per week, Sun - Thur
Sun & Mon (5am - 4.45pm)
Tues & Thurs (5am - 10.45am)
Wed (5am - 1pm)
Salary – £30,000.00 to £34,000.00 depending on experience
