Kettle Produce Ltd has two main pack-house sites which combined contain 180,000 square feet (16,700sq meters) of modern processing and packing area.
Balmalcolm:
- 92,000 square feet with the majority dedicated to prepared produce
- High care facility with capacity in excess of 1.3 million packs per week
- Cutting edge technology delivers high speed preparation of raw material for prepared products: slice, dice, baton, floret shred etc
- High speed over wrapping and labelling equipment for Brassica products
- Dedicated Brassica pack-house
Balmalcolm Chilling Facilites:
- Large vacumm chillers enable rapid cooling of raw material from 24°C to 3°C within 20 minutes
- Throughput of 20 tonnes per hour
- 54,000 square feet of chilled storage
- Out-loading through 6 sunken loading bays
Orkie:
- 88,000 square feet dedicated to preparation and packing of root products
- 25 tonne per hour carrot washing and grading machine
- 10 tonne per hour swede washing and grading machine
- Vertical form filling machines for flow packing carrots
- Leading technology in cutting peeling and polishing equipment for preparation of root product raw material ready for high care
